TOGETHER WIth their FAMILIES
Carey + Paul
JOYFULLY INVITE YOU TO THEIR WEDDING
June 11, 2022
Our Story
How did you meet? This is the question we always get and is actually a fun story. We have to take you back to a cold February day, when Paul was a fire engine redhead running around the old Broadmoor ice arena in Colorado Springs one President’s Day Weekend after his hockey game. Like many hockey players, he was ornery and enjoyed a post-game snack of pretty much anything he could get his hands on. As he was running through the old wooden chairs a small, equally ornery towheaded girl named Carey, was running through those same wooden chairs with her best friends Barbara and Laurel attempting to avoid watching their brothers’ hockey game.
Carey, Laurel, and Barbara took a pause in their shenanigans to pull out the candy they had convinced their parents to let them buy to regain their sugar high before taking off again. Paul, being a typical obnoxious pre-teen boy ran up to the girls and took Carey’s Snickers out from her hands and ran off. Carey, not wanting to be outdone by a boy took off after him, most likely yelling something rude. Once she caught up with him the Snickers was gone, and he was sticking his tongue out at her while he ran away. Carey never did get that redheaded kids name, but she knew, one day she would get even….
Fast forward 30 some years, adding in Paul’s daughter Sofia, we both have grown up (slightly). If you ask Paul, he will tell you we met in a bar and Carey picked him up. When Paul says this, Carey will just roll her eyes and laugh. If you ask Carey, she will tell you he stole her candy bar at the Broadmoor and ran away, to which Paul will roll his eyes. If you ask Sofia, she will tell you she has no idea, but it’s ok with her because she loves us both and her Baba (dad) is funny.
Regardless of how we really met we both knew pretty early on that we had something special, like we had known each other for years. Paul makes Dad Jokes, Sofia laughs, Carey shakes her head and smiles. Carey acts like she’s 5 years old (dis many, as Paul says, holding up his hand), Sofia laughs even harder, and Paul shakes his head and smiles. We have a relationship that is built on a mutual love for each other, Sofia, and the dogs (can’t forget Kai and Meka). We cherish each other, make each other laugh every day, and as Paul’s mom Chris says, “it’s like you’ve been married for years.” We are lucky we finally found someone as ornery as the other one!!!

Getting Here
Jackson is not the easiest place to get to,
but we promise it’s worth the trek!
The Jackson Hole Airport will be closed (project details here) during the week of our wedding.
We suggest driving to Jackson, or flying into Idaho Falls (two hours away)
or Salt Lake City (five hours away).

If you don’t want to rent a car, there are bus shuttle services to Jackson from both IDA and SLC.
Salt Lake City (SLC): 5-hour drive to Jackson. Long drive yes, but flights are generally cheaper into SLC.
We recommend booking your car rental services as soon as possible.
